The NCIN grant helped the Illinois State University School of Nursing boost enrollment in its Accelerated Bachelor of Science in nursing pro- gram by 50 percent and hire new clinical faculty. Communication about the grant helped prepare the institution, students, prospective students, and stakeholder institutions for upcoming changes. Program administrators held one-on-one interviews with students and prospective students to help them understand the program’s timeline, rigors, and the required prerequisite courses. School officials reached out to stakeholders, including those at community hospitals and nursing homes, to build partnerships with future employers and others.
