National Data Set Resources

The only research of its kind, these data sets consist of over 400 variables available to researchers. The data represents the most complete research culled from nursing students to date, and utilized survey questions about their career interests, academic support, barriers to completion, borrowing patterns, and initial job placement.

Focus Areas

NCIN focused on six key areas to help grantees improve their nursing programs and advance nursing scholars: mentorship, leadership, pre-entry immersion, recruitment, and doctoral advancement. Comprehensive toolkits were developed to help guide programs in each of the focus areas.

Outcomes

The NCIN and DAN programs provided numerous opportunities for research, reporting, and reflection.

Scholar Essays

NCIN scholars were invited to submit essays to our “This I believe about nursing…” and “Realizing the dream” monthly contests. Deeply personal and inspiring, these essays showcase our scholars' dedication to nursing and nursing’s future.
