Quinnipiac University’s strong mentoring program aims to maximize NCIN Scholars’ leader- ship potential, help them build long, successful careers, and uncover their passions for meeting the needs of patients. Scholars begin by reading a book that presents a novel view of leadership. Their mentors help them gain meaningful experience in their areas of interest such as anesthesia, veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder, and health care policy. They conduct and disseminate research projects, and the program culminates with the annual Conversations with Leaders, which connects them to renowned nurse leaders in small groups, after which they present about the experience to the nursing community.
