Through the NCIN program, Loyola University of Chicago’s School of Nursing developed an integrated team-based orientation for all accelerated nursing students and encouraged all students to get a “study buddy” and participate in study groups. The NCIN Leadership Toolkit helped NCIN scholars identify their unique leadership qualities. In conjunction with the Nursing Alumni Association, the school of nursing coordinated mock interviews for each graduating student. NCIN scholars found this experience valuable in instilling confidence and professional- ism. Scholars benefited from mentoring, opportunities to meet with leaders of health care systems throughout Chicago, and the chance to participate in the annual meeting of schools of nursing that NCIN hosts.
