NCIN scholars accepted into the accelerated BSN program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Nursing and Health Studies have diverse backgrounds; they earned their first bachelor’s degrees in music, public health, communications, history, or other fields. NCIN Leadership development activities included mentoring pre-licensure students during health assessment class and in the orientation of new families for newly admitted students. Leadership training also occurs through structured interactions with horses.
