As part of its NCIN program, the school of nursing provided the scholars with planned leadership opportunities related to practice, re- search and policy. They were exposed to national nurse leaders and opportunities to increase their knowledge and experience around health policy. Faculty were committed to preparing a diverse nursing workforce. Students were paired with faculty members who provided intensive mentorship during the 16-month education program.
Master of Nursing degree (M.N.) Program:
The Master of Nursing degree is a full-time, graduate-level program for students with a baccalaureate degree in a non-nursing field. This intensive 16-month program includes all the elements of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, plus additional graduate courses. Graduates with a masters in nursing are prepared to take the national licensure exam to become a registered nurse. They also have 17 credits to apply toward a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree. Graduates are eligible for certification in public health nursing in Minnesota.
Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution in a non-nursing field; Completion of all prerequisite coursework and the Graduate Record Exam (GRE); Demonstrate English Language Proficiency, if applicable.
