Texas Tech expanded NCIN’s mentorship and leadership development programs to include all students in its accelerated nursing program. All students were also assigned a clinical mentor and coach for the duration of the academic program.
An accelerated B.S.N. and M.S.N. program designed especially for the individual holding a bachelor's degree in another field.
Long text (Legacy Book):
The leadership development pro- gram at Texas Tech University’s school of nursing included online modules developed using the NCIN Leadership Toolkit and the “True Colors©” leadership training seminar, which teaches how to identify and work with various personality types that are labeled by color. Participants in the seminar learned about their personality types and how to break down barriers in order to work effectively with those with other personality types. Scholars were also invited to attend local Sigma Theta Tau International and American Nurses Association chapter meetings.
Second Degree Web-Based B.S.N. Program:
A web-based accelerated nursing program for the student with a previous college degree. This program prepares its graduates, as B.S.N. nurses, to meet the challenges of the complex and changing health care environment. Completion of this program makes students eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN and to ultimately receive licensure as a registered nurse.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; Successful completion of and minimum 3.0 GPA on prerequisite coursework; Completed application with official transcripts; Personal Interview; Computer skills; Basic life support and AED training; Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant program; Completion of a Medical Terminology course; TOEFL score of 550 for international students.
