Long text (Legacy Book):
During its final year in the NCIN program, the college of nursing focused primarily on developing leaders in the university setting and in regional professional programs. NCIN scholars participated in regional NCIN leadership conferences and reported being inspired. Scholars also participated in meetings of the NJ Chapter of Men in Nursing. They demonstrated leadership by volunteering to draft a proposal for a study-abroad program for nursing and other health care professions students; serving as peer advisers in the Freshman Studies Office; participating in the university’s multidisciplinary student organization, Leaders in Healthcare; joining meetings to plan for the 2014-2015 academic year; and conducting a mentor- ship training workshop for accelerated second-degree MSN-Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) students.
Accelerated B.S.N. Program:
An accelerated nursing program designed to prepare students with a non-nursing bachelor’s degree to enter the nursing profession. This rigorous program provides a curriculum similar to that of the traditional program, including preparation in all areas of nursing practice.
Master’s Level Entry Program, Clinical Nurse Leader:
An entry level master’s program designed specifically for students with a non-nursing bachelor’s degree, giving them the chance to begin their nursing careers prepared to make an immediate impact in their new role. The program follows a sophisticated patient-centered syllabus which develops academic expertise, clinical judgment and leadership skills which are essential for advancement in a complex, multidisciplinary environment.
