Long text (Legacy Book):
The NCIN program helped MGH’S nursing school prepare its students to become nurse leaders. All scholars completed the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator instrument, which measures how people perceive the world and make decisions. The scholars then participated in discussions about what it taught them about their perception and judgement, and how to apply that knowledge to their development as leaders. MGH used NCIN tools to provide academic support services to students and to respond to their needs, in some cases preempting crises that could have derailed their education. Students were vocal about the academic support they needed to succeed. Support services, which had previously been managed through the Office of Student Affairs, were now provided by the school of nursing, which enhanced the relationship between it and the students.
