Description & Objectives
Master of Science in Nursing Program:
A Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) program that prepares students for initial licensure as registered nurses and certification as a CNL. As the first professional degree in nursing, it also provides the foundation for preparation at the doctoral level for advanced practice nursing. Individuals can apply for the Master’s Entry CNL program with an undergraduate degree in any non-nursing field. Through an accelerated two year program, students will be eligible to sit for the registered nurse licensure examination and national certification as clinical nurse leaders upon graduation. The curriculum includes class work and clinical experience to provide students with an in-depth understanding of front-line care systems that promote safety, error reduction and quality improvement in the direct care of patients with complex health problems.
Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university with an earned 3.0 GPA; Successful completion of the following prerequisite courses: Anatomy & Physiology w/ labs (8 semester hours), Microbiology w/ lab (3 semester hours); and Statistics (3 semester hours); See Web site for additional information on admission.
