Description & Objectives
Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) Program:
A program that allows students who already possess a bachelor's degree to acquire a B.S.N. degree more rapidly than traditional B.S.N. students. The nursing portion of the program is identical to that of the traditional B.S.N., only compressed. This program allows a student to build on his or her existing education through clinical lab experiences, the acquisition of practice skills, and the development of critical thinking and clinical decision-making abilities. Successful completion of this program graduates students with a B.S.N. degree and eligibility to take the NCLEX-RN to receive nursing licensure.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum 3.0 GPA; Minimum grade of B in all science courses; Completed application with a resume, goals statement, and two letters of recommendation; Submission of all official transcripts; Successful completion of prerequisite coursework.
